Turbo leaking oil,,, Is it covered under warranty???

Hey guys my 2001 CTD auto has oil leaking into the intake side of the turbo. I pulled off the air hose to remove the silencer ring and the propeller is covered in oil. It is also running down the air pipe.

Is the turbo covered under warranty??

Isn't the turbo considered a 'wear' item??

Dont replace the charger until you check the blowby bottle,if its full of oil restricting the blowby exiting the tube this will cause exessive blowby pressure in the crankcase, which may cause the turbos to blow oil into the intake,There are other reasons for exessive blowby pressure,if you don't have the bottle make sure the hose isn't kinked or restricted.

I checked the vent bottle and hose, clean and breathing.

I took it to the dealer today and Dodge is going to replace the whole turbo!!! FREE!!!!! $1,590.00 for the complete unit. I'm tickled, but worried at the same time. Why did the oil leak? What caused it!

They ordered the parts today and will install them Thursday. I'll keep ya'll posted.

Check inside of turbo for oil. if your truck has under 100,000 miles or less than 5 years old, its covered under factory warranty.
