My 2 cents worth, get the flash done which might be free if under warranty, save the money you'd spend on an EZ and buy a fuel pressure gauge as I don't see 1 listed in your sig. My truck is a 5spd OD is a little slower, but I can say you should have no problem towing 7k if the flash removes torque management like on a 5spd. 1 more thing I feel timing boxes such as EZ shouldn't be used for towing, I beleive they add up to increased piston heat soak, even thought egts might go down. Others will disagree but you seem to be worried about un seen damaged to engine and tranny, thought you might want too chew on that for awhile before you make a decision.

These trucks, even stock, will flat out pull. If you let them. Keep it in the rpm range and you will be fine. I know my truck even before mods, would pull great if I kept rpms over 1800. Keep it out of OD until you 60-65 and you will be just fine. Dont worry about too high of rpms either, they can run at 3000 rpms all day long

Truck would be long out of warranty. Flash would most likely run 1hr shop time which could vary from $75 to close to $100. IMHO that money would be better spent toward the purchase of an EZ.

....and Heiman cowboy. Depending on where you live can be a determining factor in "how great" these trucks can pull being stock. Out here my 01 really disappointed me when I first got it.

Do I need gauges to monitor these exhaust temperatures if I use the Edge EZ? I only intend to use the extra power when towing because of the low power issue when going from 3rd to OD at 55-60mph range.

If I need to monitor temps, it appear the edge juice with monitors would be the better way to go.

Gauges aren't mandatory, but its better to know that everything is safe rather than hope it is. Towing is when your EGT's are going to be highest, and if you have extra fuel, it would be wise to monitor it.

The Juice with Attituded is a good package. I paid about as much for my 3 gauges as I could've gotten a Juice out of the states.
