Truck almost killed me and my buddy today (death Wobble)

Just like the title states. Coming home from Mass Diesel today, had to tow my buddies truck down to get fixed, heading north on 495 with car trailer in tow unloaded, cruzing about 65-70 mph, went over a bridge abuttment and the truck came unglueded on me. Almost crashed because of this, truck was out of control and would not come out of the death wobble untill i came to a complete stop. Luckily there were no cars around me at the time so i was able to pull it across three lanes an onto the shoulder to a stop. My buddy freaked and yelled whats going on, i said, i dont know. Scared the ever living you know what out of us.
I need to get this thing fixed ASAP, dont know what is wrong with it though. Track bar is a moog with about 40K on it alnog with all shocks and steering stabilzer. Ball joints, tie rods and everything else is all original. Truck has 99k miles on it and the tires are in good shape. From reading some older posts on this issue i have noticed that my track bar is rubbing against my Mag Hytec diff cover, the paint is worn off in one spot. Does this indicate that the track bar is toast? Any light you guys can share on this issue would be great, i dont want to ever expierence this again, scarriest moment i have ever had in a vehicle. Thanks

ah man been there done that, I started to laugh uncontrolably when I read that. I felt the same way. I had someone get in and crank the wheel while I looked at tierod ends, trackbar, etc. You will be able to see all your your worn out parts this way.

Go to Thurenfabrication.com and buy his track bar...thats what I did. My MOOG bar was shot in less than 25K miles. The Thuren bar is a bit more of a pain to install, but its worth it, and its totally rebuildable.

Thanks guys, i have been doing some more reading and i think i need to start fresh, just replace everything and do a 03 track bar upgrade. What i am real suprised about is that all the pannels and sheet metal stayed together and the truck did not gernade on me, this episode must have jared a few nuts and bolts loose somewhere though

I would not replace everything the tailgate prolly does not effect the life threathing death wobbledge. Maybe get a big fluffy steering wheel cover so you can not feel it in your hands. Ok I'm done.
