If the problem was cured at first when you installed the new Lift Pump. Might lean towards connections around your pump that are letting in some air when the truck shuts off. I would double check all connections, and run through the entire fuel system checking for leaks.

I had a hard start problem shortly after I bought this truck, turned out to be a worn out cross over tube o-ring.

I had you until that last post.... Is the pump located on the engine still? OEM wiring?

I think it's either air in your fuel lines or your VP is dying. Are there any codes? Get codes by turning key to run and off three times and leave it on the third time. Don't start your truck, just put the key to the run position. Copy the codes and let us know....

have you tried to bump the starter to get the Lp to prime, then try to start. Sure does sound like a air leak. Do you have a fuel pressure gauge? are you parked up hill or down hill?
