going down the road yesterday, stopped at a redlight, light turns green, and i go. i get going about 35mph and i start to hear a loud popping sound about every 2 sec. the sound is the same as if you had a bad u-joint that fell all to pieces.

the problem is it's coming from the tranny, it doesn't do it in 1,2,4, or 5. it only makes the noise when i'm acelerating in third. it doesn't make the sound any other time. i think it have borken third loose or something, i'm not a tranny expert by no means, and any help would be great.

i was also thinking about swapping it out for a six-speed. but i don't have the $ for that right now. thanks
