Question Transmission 4th Gear Hard Shift?

Hey board;

I've only had my CTD for about 3 weeks now, and have a question on my transmission.

After purchasing just didnt seem to be shifting right to me........so I took it in and had the transmission serviced by a very reputable independent trans mech. He adjusted the bands, changed filter, and changed the fluid. (He said the second or intermediate band was worn a little,...but he was still able to adjust it) I've been driving it for about a week now, and it seems to be slipping (long / hard / delayed shift) into 4th gear. Runs through 1-3 just fine,......but into fourth rpms will hit about 2000/ 40 mph, before it will laborously shift into fourth. If I let up on the peddle a little at about 37 mph,....it will usually shift a little smoother.

I'm wondering if they all go into fourth a little hard, or if I have another issue.

Thanks for any insight.

that's normal, shouldn't shift into 4th 'till about 50, use the O/D off button to manually control this if you're having probs.

Sounds normal to me too. Seems like it takes 2-3 seconds to get into OD. Normal. You can let up just alittle on the throttle to help it shift. Saves the TC also.
