So i have an 01 2500 that has been giving me some transmission concerns recently, i sometimes come to a stop and when i want to go again it will rev up but go no where and then suddenly slam into gear, and sometimes at low speed it seems to be slipping in and out of gear, i checked the oil level and it seemed good but looked like it had air in the oil, any ideas?

 

Oil was checked when idling in neutral?

 

yes it was

 

When was the last time the filter was changed?? A clogged filter can act like that.

 

How many miles on it? Has it been overhauled?

 

My 02 had a similar problem years ago and it was the governor pressure solenoid and transducer.
