Transfer case question
Transfer case question
Is is true that only cab&chassis 3500's have gears to run a pto inside the case on a NV241HD transfer case/ NV4500 HD transmission, or do the pickups have it too? If not, can the gears be added?
Also, has anybody ever completely removed the spacer blocks between the axle and springs on the rear to lower the truck for gooseneck trailers on a 3500 4x4? Thank you

The NV241HD, an option on Ram 2500's and standard on Ram 3500's built after 1998, has a stronger case and wider drive chain to better withstand the shock of snow plow service, a PTO cover and drive gear, and an extra bearing to support the thrust to the main shaft created by a PTO adapter.

i read the info on the link-its almost misleading me to think that it is true for 2500 and 3500 series only starting in 1998. i mean i have a 97 and its a 2500 with the ''dhd'' t case. yes, it was an option but i do have the ''hd case''....not that ill ever use it !
