I friend of mine has an 01 Dodge cummins 4WD. I just put a rebuilt 6 speed in this unit and a new clutch. 1 week later the transfercase pops into nuetral when you let up on the throttle going down the road. The detents feel good.
Any ideas would help.

 

I am no expert on the Dodge 4x4, but in my long ago experience is there is a bind or miss alignment with the clutch, transmission. If it just stareded after the install.

Make sure that the TC linkage is not binding and it is adj. properly
