Trans temps slow/not dropping when converted is locked up
Up untill yesterday, my trans temps have always been like clock work. The temps would warm up in stop and go traffic to around 200, but as soon as i got rolling and the converter locked up in either 3rd gear or overdrive, the temps would gradually start lowering at a steady pace and settle out around 165ish. Yesterday the temps go up to 200 in stop and go traffic but once i was rolling again, and the converter was locked up, the temps did not come down, they still hovered right around the 200 mark, which had me concerned. Never done this before. I took the truck out for a ride this morning and it was a little better, the temp did come some but it was way longer then normal. It was also a bit cooler out this morning, around 50 degrees. Up untill yesterday, the truck had been sitting for two weeks, i am wondering if something is bound up in the trans cooling system or what. On a side note, the trans cooler is new, almost a year old and the fluid is right at the full mark on the dipstick. Any insight would be great, thanks
