So over the weekend i replaced the original batteries in my 01 Dodge, (almost 9 years old), anyways, the problem that is occuring now is that the trans does not lock up in 3rd unless under moderate/heavy accleration and RPMs over 2K. I have a lockup switch in the truck and i can lock the converter at any RPM in 3rd i want, but it should be locking up before 2k rpms. Every other operational component with the tranny is normal and lockup in overdrive is normal as well. (This is a DTT trans) I have been having sensitive throttle issues and an APPS reset has seem to cure that, but now the 3rd gear lockup is off. Its not a huge issue cause it can be controlled via the switch, but i like things to be operating perfectly. I reset the ecm tonight and that has helped some, not a complete cure though. Anyone have this symptom before or anything. Thanks for the time

 

if the batterys were disconnected the ecm has to re learn stategic adaptivity. it needs several complete drive cycles to accomplish this. i dont remember all the requirements but start from cold, reach operating temps, mild accelaration, steady highway speed and so on, mine took like a week to start shifting the way it use to.

 

Interesting, its been a couple days since i reset the ecm, i have not driven it very far yet, less then hundred miles, so maybe i just need to give it more time. I really want to replace the APPS with a Timbos, but i have not convinced myself that my is completely bad yet. Thanks again
