trans issue?
trans issue?
Ive had converter issues for a while, finally put a custom built single thinking it would solve my lockup issue. put it in and much better, but still shuddered in lockup. so I had my valve body built, and now its worse. it seems to me that there is a lack of flow. opening up the orifice for lockup pressure made itworse so it makes sense there isnt enough flow. I hear theres a restrictor and check ball, Im assuming its this. but I dont know. my trans is a 2 year old chrysler reman and now has a shift kit, a brand new full billet converter and will drive right through lockup like its not even trying, with only a van aaken on it

From: North Carolina or Kentucky. Take your pick
Can the cooler line at rear of tranny flow over 1 qt in 20 seconds. You may have a restricted cooler. Has to do with backpressure. If you ground out the converter bleed slot as some VB updates describe you went to far. Instructions limit vent. Are you using ATF+4???
If none of above apply, I would suggest a complete VB from someone knowledgable. Need more pressure.

the valve they day to grind is a new sonex unit not ground. a trans shop built the vb. and it was doing it before now its just worse. I dont believe it has enough flow to keep up with the new pressure demands. Im going to find the drain back valve and get rid of that
figured it out. turns out for whatever reason that I needed to add holes in the valve body for the valve that controls lockup, it wasnt dumping fluid to engage lockup. drilled 2 holes and boy does it come in
