trans cooler temporary fix???

Blew a hole in my t cooler lost alot of fluid wont go in gear so that I can even get it in the shop.I bought an aftermarket trans cooler but the limes are alot smaller.I was wondering if there's something I can buy that I can use to reduce the bigger hose to the smaller? Plus as it sits the new t cooler wont reach the existing lines & since they have quick disconnect fittings on them that's another hurdle.I plan to order a cooler with the correct lines but that will do me no good today&I have no idea how to bypass the lines. So any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thx

Do you mean "the shop" or "your shop"? If you're going to do anything then why not replace the factory heat exchanger instead of fab something temporary? Unless you aren't planning on replacing the heat exchanger.

Ok so here's the issue I'm having. So the quick disconnect is too short &there like 60 bucks a piece @ the parts store. They have aftermarket coolers but the line is still too short to reach it & a stock cooler is almost 300 bucks. So how can I safely extended the hose or where online can I buy the correct length hose with the quick disconnect?

I think it's important to get the cooler that fits the proper diameter lines, so as not to restrict the flow. If the lines are too short to reach it, the only alternative seems to be to cut off the crimped hoses and replace it with new bulk hydraulic rated hose with clamps. If it was mine, I think I'd rather spend the extra $ and get the factory one that fits with no mods.

Just my opinion here, but those quick connects are prone to leaking eventually. Back when I had an auto I cut the lines somewhere accesible and ran 1/2 inch heater hose to a universal cooler. Most of the generic coolers I found had 1/2" tubing, but reduced down to 3/8" or smaller at the connection. Easy fix was to cut the ends off and double hose clamp the 1/2" heater hose on... They were all around $30-40 at the time, and in stock at the local parts store.

The cooler up at the radiator has 3/8 lines. I wouldn't adapt anything smaller. Also use the correct hose rated for transmission/power steering hydraulic fluid.
