Hi i have a 2002 2500 ctd 4x4 auto and i was driving down the road with no other problems then some minor slipage and i pushed o/d off to get rpms up a litlle to go past a car and ever since then it wont go into 4th gear and there is no tc lock up at all it also does think about shifting into 3rd but it will go i really hope this is a simple fix im willing to check whatever please lay out some options for me thanks for the help and i have been reading other posts and found some things im gonna look for thanks again!

 

did the od light stay on even though you pushed it off?? i just had the same prob and all clutches were burnt up in it

 

Drop the pan and inspect for debris in pan. I think you will find the expiration date of tranny.

 

no the light is off and as far as the expiration date i know it as come but i dont wanna believe it and cant afford rebuild

 

You can check the OD solenoid with a meter.

And you may just have a bad switch.
