today was an eventful day

So today I put my new ball joints ( moog ball joints) both sides upper and lower and man they were freakin stubborn to get out!!!! it took me 6 1/2 hours today to replace all four ball joints, both wheel bearings and axle seals....... I'm glad i'm done with that project now its time to kick back and have a couple beers

Wow. I bet you are glad to be done.... probably saved yourself a couple $$$.
Don't forget to get a wheel alignment now (unless you are going to replace other parts still).

This and those free mirrors..... times like this just don't happen every day.

You did good. 6 1/2 hours isn't bad at all to do both sides.

HEy Number47, I also have a 2WD. Are the bawl joints press in or rivet/bolt in
on a 2WD????
I have the Harbor Freight press tool.

6 1/2 hours is pretty good for all that. Mine took a whole weekend to do 4 balljoints, a tierod end, tranny and t-case output seals, both rear wheel seals and one bearing, driverside front hub, replace all drivetrain fluids, adjust parking brake shoes, and replace front pads and rotors, and front axleshaft u-joints And to top it all off, the pass. side hub nut pulled the threads off my stubshaft with it, so I had to take that to a machine shop to get repaired.

You shouldn't need to do a front end alignment if you only did balljoints. If the camber is off, theres not much you can do about that. I guess it wouldn't hurt to check caster though. If thats off way to far, it can actually wear your balljoints out prematurely.
