I've got a 98 12valve 4x4 3500 and I think its going bad on me was jsut wondering how hard is it to get to and what is involved? Should I just let the dealership do it? Thanks in advance for the help!

 

You have to pull the tranny and transfor case, it's very heavy (#600 + or-). If you've never pulled one. IMO, this is not the one to learn on. I don't know about the dealer. I would try a tranny shop or something. Unless you have a good relationship with your dealers S.M. and trust him. What is it doing? I would be sure of the problem first.
