stuck fuel soliniod
stuck fuel soliniod
Hi guys,
Im trying to start a 1999 2nd gen that has been sitting for several years. I changed the fuel. lift preasure is10/12 PSI. no fuel comes out of the injector line when cracked over. it starts with starter fluid. fuel is going in the boost banjo. I wondering if the fuel solenoid in the boost pump could be stuck closed from sitting? I would appreciate any Ideas. Thanks guys

First, stop with the starter fluid, it is NOT helping you and just doing damage to your engine.
I am not quite sure about the terms you are using so, are you cranking the engine when you crack an injector line? or just hoping the lift pump will push fuel through? Where is fuel going? you said the boost banjo, there are only two lines on the side of the VP44, the one to the right (as you are looking at it from the drivers side of the engine) is the feed line, the one to the left is the return fuel line. The one to the left should be returning fuel with a pressure ABOVE 14 psi, not below.
I just changed my VP44 and had to crack lines all the way down, when I have ran out of fuel before due to the fuel gauge being bad, I only had to crack #1.
Have you changed your fuel filter? Guessing original lift pump?? Tell me more about the truck.
Last, I am sorry that your post went an entire month without a response... obviously TDR has dropped the quality of users that it once had... great for research but SLOW to answer any questions.
