I have been hearing this strange noise when I decelerate using the exhaust brake. It sounded as if it was coming from the back seat or under the truck, around that area. The only way I can describe the noise is it sounded like a cross between a squeek and the noise a dove makes when it flys away. Then I noticed a lot of oil on my rear axle. I looked around under the truck and found no leaks but I did route my blowby vent tube under the truck to the rear of the cab, by the front of the fuel tank. The same location I was hearing the noise. There is always a little blowby residue on the tank and a few spots on the axle but there is way more than usual. I did change the oil 1000 miles ago and poured a full 3 gallons in. Buts that only 1 quart over and I dont see why if thats the reason then how come I just started hearing the noise and excess oil? Could the sound be air and oil blowing out the 3/4" hose? If so then why only when I use the exhaust brake?

 

You know you've stumped everyone when your post ends up on the second page without a single reply. Thats OK because I think I have found my problem. Cant believe I past it up when I was looking around at the blowby. I have a rear u-joint thats about the grenade! Now my new question is what u-joint do I have back there? Its the one on the pinion. I'll also post a new question since I'm sure no one is going to read this one again.
