Strange Growl?
Strange Growl?
Ok Guys I Got A Strange Growl When I Come Up To A Stop, And While Turning. I Have Changed The Front Brake Pads, Because I Thought That Was It And They Were About Due.it Didnt Help So I Got To Thinking Wheel Bearings Because I Can Feel It And Hear It When Turning. So I Changed Them Out, Still Does It. The Only Thing Else I Can Think Of Is Maybe The Rear End. Idont Feel Or Hear Anything Above 10mph And Keep In Mind It Feels And Sounds Just Like A Brake Pad Wore Down To The Metal Or That Of A Tire Barely Rubbing The Wheel Well Liner. Your Opinions Are Greatly Appriciated.
When you said you replaced your wheel bearings, did you do front and rear? I had a similar noise with my 2000 S10 Blazer and it turned out it was the bearing in one of the front hub assemblies. I believe the 2wd Rams have a similar hub assembly where the bearings are sealed in and not replaceable. You have to replace the whole thing to the tune of $300+.
I had a strange growl in the front part of the truck after I had a tranny replacement. Turned out to be a exhaust hanger bracket. Don't ask me how that was fixed. I would only get the noise when turning to the left passed a certain deflection and hard braking. Took it back to the dealer and they fixed it quickly.

I Forgot To Mention, It Dont Really Seem To Do It Until It Gets Warm. I Can Go And Drive It And At First You Dont Hear/feel Anything But After 10 Miles You Start To Hear/feel It
I suggest power steering pump. The reason it makes the noise when you are stopping is that the brake booster is operated by the fluid pressure. The reason it does it more when warm is the fluid warms up. I would take a close look at the fluid, but there is a big flat magnet in the reservoir to collect ferrous shavings, so it may be hard to determine.
