Well I am bringing the truck in tommorrow because I am suspecting either the wheel bearing/hub assembly of driveshaft U-joint on the front drivers side is going. It makes a faint whining noise that is not influenced by braking and is wheel rpm dependant. Does this sound familiar to anyone?

Anyhow, my plate on the door say's 06-2002. I took delivery on Nov. 7th 2002. The supplied booklet say:

2.6 Cummins Diesel Engine Limited Warranty

B. Parts Covered for 5 Years or 100,000 Miles

I thought we got a 7 year 100,000 mile warranty. Also it does not say anything about a powertrain warranty. I have read posts where the hub assembly and or axle u-joint was covered under the powertrain warranty. I now have 61 k miles.

Can somebody help clarify?

The diesel part of the warranty is a seperate coverage of its own. what you need to do is have the dealer run the vin and see what coverage you actually have.
