Steering Gear Box

My 2002 has about 1"-2" of slack in the steering, are the steering gear boxes adjustable or do I need to replace it?

Yes, the gearbox is adjustable, and relativle simple to do, there is a 3/16 allen screw on the top with a 5/8 jamb nut around it, you can see it easily from under the hood, I find it easiest to adjust it laying on my back on the ground, loosen the jamb nut while you hold the allen screw from turning, when the jamb nut is loose enough, turn the allen screw clockwise a quarter to a half turn depending on how much play is in your steering wheel, dont go too tight or it will bind, if its not enough, turn it a bit more. Let me know if you got it.
