Are you pop eye the sailer man? Get a super model with skinny arms to do it. Kick back and have a beer and enjoy the view

Wait until it is about 35 degrees out, rain and sleet, all by your self, middle of the nowhere , with only a small mag lite, with cold water creek running under the truck. Guaranteed you will get it off no matter how big you are.

The hot shower afterwards is something you will never forget.

I don't have large forearms, but that shouldn't matter. The hard one to get is the top bolt. Get a 6" extension on a 3/8" ratchet, with the 10mm socket. This should be just a hair longer than the starter, so you'll be able to swing the ratchet. Then work from underneat, snake the ratchet in there. Might take a try or two to get it in, but it will fit. I had the luck of removing it this way. Luckily, my arms are small enough to squeeze in through the top to put that bolt back in.

Like Tate said , Just use a 3/8 rachet and 6",8" extention and a 10mm socket. I have snap on extensions with the tappered male end so the socket can wobble. Dont thing you need that or a wobbly socket just a straight set up.

Its realy pretty easy to pull the starter.

I think it took me 15 minutes to replace mine

I wouldn't call my forearms small, and I had no problems. You must have HUGE forearms.

I had read somewhere that someone uses a bottle jack to apply the tq on a modified wrench (to get that top bolt).

Good luck with this. I have not replaced my starter, but I've been there with other impossible tasks. Someone got it in there, there has to be a way to get it out.

You can try jacking off the floor with a block of wood on the jack or the like if you KNOW you have all the bolts removed.
