Speedometer jumping

Hi all,
I've used this forum for guidence in the past but now I need to ask a question. I've search the archives but only find reference to 12v.

My truck is a 2002 3500 auto 24v and just yesterday, at around 100kph or 60 mph, the speedometer needle starts jumping around. Doesn't do it when accelerating from a stop, just when I start cruising at hwy speed. Some of the 12v posts for older trucks indicate a trans sensor problem at the tranny. Does this still hold true for 24v autos?

BTW, in the next couple of days, if the weather holds, the dash comes out for an evaporator change. Thanks to the others who've posted step by step for that job.

Sounds like what mine was doing when the wheel speed sensor in the rear diff went out.

From: North Carolina or Kentucky. Take your pick
Yes, as above. Speedo signal comes from rear axle ABS sensor. Check wiring for damage
