Question Speedometer Calibration

This may have been answered somewhere but I could not find it. On my 2001.5 with 315's can the Dodge dealer change my speedo to read correctly? I researched and found the SuperChip, Superlift Speedo Programmer, and the Smarty which will do this but require you to use their performance settings. It will not just do the speedometer correction alone. I have a Edge-EZ and don't want to use any other stacked box just to fix the speedometer.

Well that may be a "yes" and "no" answer. You use the DRB scan tool and go into the ABS module and change the revolutions per mile and tone ring count. Trick is finding someone who knows how to do it. There is NO section in the manual on how to do this so don't be disappointed if they give you the "deer in the headlights" look, or say that it can't be done. You've either learned how to do it by trial and error, or by reading about it on the web. I only do maybe three or four a year so I usually take my GPS to work and use it to verify that the changes I make are correct. I've run into a few times when you put in the correct revs per mile for the tire and the speedo is still off some. The GPS helps get it closer.

yes...

Yes they can I did it on my 01'

DRBIII scan tool...

ABS Menu

Tire size menu

There will be 3 options... 1. 245's 2. 265's as they were factory tire sizes.
The last option will be OTHER

Go to the "other" menu

now enter the revs per mile.

for 315's it will be 601

Save

Done!

my 01' has 315's and my speedo is on EXACTLY.

Nate.

(might not be exactly like that but its close, I can't remeber what the screens say, as it was the 1st time i had the DRB in my hand)

I called 5 Dodge Dealers around northern virginia today and everyone one of them stated that they could not do it. I even explained the process and they still said no can do. This is crap! Oh, well I broke down and bought a SMARTY today from DTR just for this so I guess I will stack my Edge-EZ with it.

Pretty expensive to get a correct odometer but I guess by stacking both boxes I will be better off than just with the Edge-EZ alone.

You won't get very much out of stacking the smarty with the EZ. They give the same hp and both can give timing. I know that the smarty has setting w/o timing but I would just get rid of the EZ and use the smarty.

Does anyone know how hard it is to change speedo with a smarty. I just got 285's put on was thinking about having speedo corrected. Are there any tire shops that know how to correct speedo?
