Source for battery cables?

I'd love to install OEM quality parts, but I'm scared of what the OEM price might be. Is there a source for quality aftermarket cables that are a little more reasonably priced?

Any auto parts store can cut some cables by the foot or you can get a kit off the shelf.

From what I have seen, the typical off the shelf cable is undersized and of a lesser quality. I'll have to see if I can find a place to custom cut them. What about accessory and the split ground leads?

I believe that they would be a factory item, but I really doubt even the dealership has or will get them.

Cables

Hi guys,

Try some farm implement shops. Some of them carry heavy welding cable, and crimp on ends (including the "inline" connector for the drivers side. Make sure they use a good quality heatshrink (WITH adhesive) to seal up everywhere there is a terminal/connector.

I made mine from from scratch with all the parts from NAPA just spend some time in the Belden Book I made mine with lead sealed ends and heat shrink. It was more $$ than off the shelf but I'll never need to replace them again and I added conections for jump starting my friends truck (PSD) so I don't have to open the hood (the Ford/Chevy boy's/girls might think that he was helping me out) I got great service from my NAPA and they let me build them in there parking lot on a sunday afternoon with there tools!! Great service!!!

hope it helps Brent

Doing a bit of searching found this guy...
http://www.custombatterycables.com/a.../dodge_ram.htm

Product looks good, and prices aren't too bad, either.

Great Site! Had heard good things about them before but never got around to searching. Serious quality and overkill! Just what I like!

Will the 99 cables, shown in their pics, fit all Second Gens? I'm assuming yes but anyone know?
