some smoke
Quick question about some smoke from my truck. I've noticed that when it's cold out around the freezing temp. outside, when I start my truck it will blow alittle white smoke and then it will be a blue colored smoke just when it's sitting there idilling. As soon as I get going and it warms up, the smoke goes away.
The truck runs very strong with no problems. Is this normal or should I be checking for something? Thanks.

Bluish tint usually indicates burning oil.
If your oil level isn't going down, then it probably isn't.
If it was oil, you'd see it regardless of the outside temperature.
Maybe even moreso with high temperatures.
You can give the smoke a sniff, if it is just Diesel, you'll be able to tell,
same if there is burning oil in there, it'll smell like something from the 70's,
you also should be able to smell antifreeze if it is present.
More than likely, it is normal.
With cold weather setting in, mine will puff a little thick white off the bat,
then hazey white till it warms up enough to fully burn the fuel.
Down below 0 degrees it looks like a mosquito fogger till the engine temp gets up.
