Snapped front slip yoke

I had to get pulled out by a Ford when my front driveshaft slip yoke snapped at the u-joint.

I think this is the proper replacement but I am not sure. Another website has the yoke listed by application but listed at $140. I might be able to get a discount at a Mopar dealer if it is available that way.

During my research I read about welding in a new stub shaft and upgrading to a 1350 u-joint. I assume this needs a new yoke (and slip yoke) on the differential to complete the change.

Any one know the correct part numbers?

I have looked at the torque king site. That is where I saw the $140 slip yoke that seems to be available, elsewhere, for half that amount. I linked to Summit racing in the first post.

I am wondering is it is worth it to upgrade to a 1350 joint and yoke set up.

This is where mine failed.

I guess so, looks like that spicer number gives you a 16 spline shaft with a 1330 joint, which should be correct for your year truck. Cant comment on upgrading to a 1350 joint.

How did that break?

Heading back to our fishing hole and started to bog down in the soft sand when bang!

We did manage a few fish so it wasn't a totally wasted day.

Updating since it might help someone in the future. The yoke linked in the first post is the correct oe piece. Installed in minutes.

The part is dropped shipped from Spicer and shipping was predicted to take two weeks. Happily, I had the part in 4 days.
