snap in the drivetrain
snap in the drivetrain
a guy asked me to drive his 99 cummins for a day to see if i could figger out what the pop, snap, jerk, or what ever ya wanna call it is in the drive train. if ya shift normal takin off and stuff it's fine, but if ya idle down in like in 2ed or 3rd and get back on it it kinda makes the pop and the shifter shakes to the right.
it's got new u-joints so i've narrowed it down to 2 things: either the carrier baring or the rubber traney mount
i dont think it's the rear end trin to wrap up,cause ya can just barley get in to it and it still does it. but it's possible
the truck is:
99
2500
5spd
4x4
ext. cab
long box
stock height
285 tires
120 hp injectors
bd boost fooler
some sort of bigger turbo
head studs
south bend sled pull cluth
and so on.........

Glad you found it out. I just got done tracking the same sound, jerk, or shifting feeling that you said. Ended up being in the rear end, it spun a carrier bearing we didnt catch it soon enough and it reined the rear axle housing. over $2000 to fix er.
