snap ring

I Have to change out my cool side housing on a turbo hy35, the housing is damaged and I received a replacement. I cannot figure out how to remove the snap ring. I have removed the ones with built in tangs but this one has holes. Anyone have any ideas on how to remove it?

Get a set of snap ring pliers with the small pins.

You're probably using the wrong size snap ring pliers. They make different sizes for larger or smaller snap rings.

For snap ring removal one size does not fit all. K-D Tools makes a set that has interchangeable tips of the most common sizes. I have a couple of sets that I have picked up over the years - most came from NAPA. When it comes to snap rings the correct tool for the job is the only tool that will work without alot of *&$$^#@*(
