Sluggish Acceleration 24v
Sluggish Acceleration 24v
Here's the truck.
1999 Dodge 3500 4x4 DRW 5spd, Air Dog, Edge Juice w/Attitude 225k miles
Ambient temps in the 80-100F range.
Edge set on 0 (stock)
Start the truck in the morning, cranks fine, sounds good. When I accelerate on the road, the truck hesitates, almost like it's not getting any fuel. Pedal position does not help, I can mash it to the floor, and it won't give it any more "gas". Check engine light comes on. Put it on a scanner, and it says no codes read.
Set the Edge on 2 (tow)
Same story, except that I have a little more go, but not what it should have. Again, can mash the pedal to the floor, and it hangs up for a but, then finally breaks 2k RPM and starts to pull, and drive like it should.
Set Edge on 5 (Extreme)
Seems to run fine, notice a slight hesitation at lower RPM's but the truck is very drivable.
Now, this is a somewhat recent issue. I noticed it once before a couple months ago, and it seemed to go away on its own... only to resurface again in recent days.
While at lunch today, I did a little test.
I had the Edge on "0", I got on the freeway feeder and started accelerating. When the truck stopped accelerating, I held my pedal position the same, and I scrolled up on the Edge. With each increase in setting numbers, the truck accelerated more. When it was on "5", it really took off.
I got back to my office, called Edge, and didn't get much feedback. I indicated to them that I am showing 30# fuel pressure, clean air filter, and this is not a slight difference in power... it's major.
Any thoughts on where to begin?
