99 5.9 3500 5 sp manual 2wheel
Just replaced the clutch Saturday.
The truck starts up on the first key turn. Idles at 900 rpm.
Will run nice, turbo whistling at 13-1500 rpm, all is well. About 20 minutes on the road, then the turbo goes off and I get a dead pedal. It comes back after a couple of minutes.
This turbo I have is the original from my previous engine, it has 200k. I however, have the new HX35 which came with the new engine (only 65K) and I am thinking the old turbo is toasted and just putting in the newer one on.
I just came back from Mexico City with no problems, just started about 2 weeks ago.
Any assistance will be obviously greatly appreciated from this non mechanical man.
Still have a 5.9 24v and an engine block for sale $800 for both, you take.
Thanks
Carlos

Sounds like vp-44
Sounds like the vp to me. The turbo won't putout if it isn't fueling either lift pump ( does the LP run for about 25 sec's when you turn the key to start but just bump the starter) vp-44 injects fuel according to the signal from the apps /throttle control.
