Silencer Ring
Somewhere there was a discussion about the silencer ring.
Someone found out that it does create a turbulance into the turbo. (Or least what I read..)
Regardless, removing the ring does nothing much than create a mild whistling noise. This can be increased in volume by installing a Scotty ][, BHAF, or just remove the air snokel on the stock box.
At least I know my turbo is still spining! I can hear it...

Small screwdrivers... And alot of patients...
If you look at the ring there is a tip to dig against... Get it lifted out of the slot and put another screwdriver under it to hold it. Then work it out!

Pulled the silencer ring off today and added a K&n BHAF cold air system. Its kinda Cool hearing the Turbo spool up better. Now where did I put that Credir Card so I can order a chip system.

The Dodge Cummins is the only Cummins with the silencer ring for occupant comfort, NO other Cummins B,C,L,N etc. has this wonderful extra part. Obviously then performance is not effected as commercial engine arrangements generally work harder than our precious Dodge Cummins Diesels. Removing is easy place small screwdriver under tapered end that extends towards turbo inlet then place second small screwdiver or knife under exposed gap and work your way around until it pops out.
