Thumbs up Silencer ring

Alot of the signatures I read say "silencer ring MIA" "silencer ring MIA". Well it got the best of me so last night while at work I removed my silencer ring. 4:30 this morning I get off work and get out on the freeway for my 30 mile ride home. After about 15 minutes of all that high pitch whining, I can't help but to be thinking that I might as well have my ex-wife riding with me. Maybe I'm just used to it be alot more quiet. Maybe I need to just give it some time. Then again I gave the ex-wife 15 years and never got used to it. Nah. I'm putting it back in. Ya'll must be tone deaf or something.

Turbo whistle is an acquired taste. As far as I'm concerned, my truck doesn't make enough noise! Keeps the passengers to a minimum also! LOL!!!!

Most highway trips, I don't even notice the whistle.

Some like it, some don't.

I took mine out just to make the wife mad!!! And if you put a cold-air intake(AFE, Scotty, whatever) it really gets loud!!!

It's better when you pull the tube out of the fender wall and added muffler delete kit! Now you really can hear it! I love the music it makes... I would rather turn of the stereo and listen to the melody it make as it climbs and decends hills on criuse control! Great sounds!

Quiet rigs are for the city folks...

My wife asked me if I could get the turbo any louder. Then she mentioned stacks.

I did good, huh.

Took my ring off yesterday. Took about 2 or 3 minutes. It's not very loud at all, but then I dont ride the gas too much. I think it'll sing when I get the Scotty and straight pipe. I want stacks, but my girlfriend dosn't like the look of them. I think I'll go with the 4" pipe and keep her happy. Anything to drone out the bla, bla, bla, when she's riding shotgun. -GB

I like when people say, "Can you turn your turbo down so I can hear my radio" Never has happened to me, but I have heard it.

the more it sounds like a big rig the better... I have also removed two silencer rings in the last two days. When I meet somebody with a cummins the first thing I say is " do you want your ring removed? " And all say yes or its already done.

I have a BHAF and no ring. I can barely hear it. I might have to go with a scotty, but I do not like the plastic construction. It seems cheap to me. My truck is not near as loud as my brothers Typhoon with a TE-44. That thing makes a ton of noise and it only puts out about 15 psi on 92 octane.
