Shutdown question
Howdy y'all. How exactly does a 24V shutdown? I know the 12V use a fuel shutdown solenoid. Does the 24V use something similar? I was thinking that when you turned the key off that the pumps turned off thus shutting down the engine. Anyone know how all this works. Any info would be appreciated.
12 valves had a mechanical injection pump, as long as the engine was turning the pump was as well.
So they needed the solenoid to cutoff fuel to stop everything from turning.
24 valves use an electric injection pump,
cut off power to the pump and it instantly stops flowing fuel to the engine,
so it stops pretty darn quick.
