Shocks? input needed?

i am wondering on the heavy trucks stock to very small lifts what kinda shocks others are running? Bilstein, Fox, Rancho......there are a lot and i know a lot of mfg have them with stock appl or lifted...but in my opinion a shock is not a shock. ?????? input needed in a diesel truck heavy duty smooth ride?

Do a search for shocks and you will find TONS of reading on this site regarding shocks and probably more than you wanted to know....I as others installed Bilstein. For the size & weight of a tank going down the hwy it almost drives like a caddy. Under $300 for all 4 delivered to your door. www.eshocks.com

Which Bilsteins to order for truck with a lift? The stock height trucks list the Bilstein 'Heavy Duty' shocks, while a 4" lift shows Bilstein 5100 shocks. Are the 5100 shocks superior to the HD shocks?

Sorry, my search didn't provide answers beyond 'Go buy the Bilsteins'.

I contacted www.ajusa.com directly with this very question. I was told that there is no functional difference between the two models. The 5100s are for lifted trucks and the HDs are for stock height trucks. I personally think the 5100s look nicer, but that is a secondary consideration. By the way they had the best pricing on-line when I was looking.

You can contact bilstein directly or check out the options online. W/my 4" lift I run the longest ones they make but they might be too long for your application. You shouldn't have a problem finding some for the 2" leveling kit.
