My friends dad just bought a 1999 2500 24valve with 213,000 miles on it. Truck is in pretty good shape. The transmission performs well at WOT but when youre just puttin around, it shifts way too quick. We're going to change the fluid and filter in it asap to see if that helps anything. Any ideas on what it might be? I know how to adjust the TPS on my truck, but do the 24v's have a TPS, and if so, is there any way to adjust it, and also, would the apps have anything to do with the transmission shifting? It just shifts way to quick up to 3rd gear if you're putting around. Thanks

I believe there is a PCM reflash to help increase shift points.

 

Well, we dont really have time for a reflash, and i think its just something that isnt set right anyway. I think i will try to reset the APPS, and i also bought fluid/filter for tranny, and motor that i am going to change. The preacher just bought this truck, and it is going into missionary work in Belize . They are leaving with it Thursday i think. 7 day drive. The front end was gone through today, and hopefully i can start doing my thing with it tomorrow night Hopefully it will shift better after i do the fluid/filter, and reset the APPS.
