Could someone please expain the shift sequence when the OD is on and normal thottle is applied. Specifically is the TC supposed to lock up when in third gear? I just took the truck to Detroit Tans. They said the PCM is not sending the signal to the TC to lock up in third gear. However according to Aldata it is supposed to lock in third gear under normal throttle conditions when in OD mode.

 

My 99 does not lock the TC in third when normally shifting using OD. The only time I've had it lock in third is when I have OD locked out.
When driving at around 50-55mph with OD locked out,,,, TC locked,,,, and I push the button to engage OD, it will unlock the TC while in third gear and then shift to fourth unlocked and then lock up the TC again.
As far as I know, all the stock 47RE's shift this way.

 

I belive with normal( ) throtle positions it should go 1/2/3/4/4lock
Lock in 3 should only happen when the OD is off. Thats the way mine goes anyway

 

I get a lockup in third whether or not my o/d is on or off

 

That is what I thought too, until I read the Aldata report. Thanks guys
