Will the serp. belt off a 97 fit an 01? ive got a used belt from my 12v, and want to use it as my backup for my 24v.

Palmetto, I'd like to say yes definately, but I'm only 90 percent sure, call a parts store and have them look up the 97 belt then have them look up the 01 belt to see if the #'s are the same.

That's a good idea to keep a spare belt. I do that in my cars too. When my original belt starts showing those cracks, I'll intall a new one and keep the old one somewhere in the vehicle.

I went to www.autozone.com and plugged in several trucks ranging from 1996 to 2001 and they all showed the same belt part number (with A/C.....didn't check without A/C).

2002-2004 didn't show any part numbers FWIW.

Instead of waiting until you're stuck on the side of the road, might want to consider just trying the old belt some day when you got nothing to do.
