sensors
where is the map sensor and Iat sensor. and do they effect mph. and if so can I change them and should I change them. getting about 13 mph and I think someone said something about those sensors maybe effecting mph. change everything from air, oil, and, fuel filter. drive at or near speed limit no racing or anything like that. any help out there I don't know what kind of gears I have. I thought someone said 2001.5 have 4:10s stock but I don't know for sure. I do know they are stock. does anyone know if there is a way to check that without getting grease. I know I got the lift on it with 35's and that effects it but it still seems like I should be getting better mph than that. and that was hand calculated between 13 and 13.5 mph.

The MAP sensor will be on the drivers side of the head/intake manifold. It will be just behind the fuel filter canister. It will have three wires coming from it. The IAT sensor will be just behind the mAP sensor. It has two wires from it. What codes is the ECM kicking out?

I beleive that if those sensors were bad, they would affect your truck so much as to limit the speed to 13 mph. I'd check codes first, but my first thought is a malfunctioning APPS.
deaconn, is your speedo adjusted for those bigger tires? If not, read my post on MPG 24V.
You probably will not get more than 16.5 with those big ol tires, my mileage dropped from 21 average to 15 average when I went to my buck shot mudders and my fuel saver=smoke generator edge comp and now edge juice.
Pop your hood and look up at the white label on the underside of the hood, it will tell you which gears you have.
If your speedo has not been adjusted, your odometer is off by 11% so add 11% to your mileage and your really about 14.5 MPG( MILES PER GALLON) MPH(MILES PER HOUR)

Everything Big Blue24 says is probably right on the money. The IAT may also need to be cleaned. I doubt there is anything wrong with the MAP sensor. If there was you'd be getting code P0237 "Low input, out-range, voltage low". Or something like it.
