How do you reset the codes in a 2001?

 

Commercial code reader or my choice, the Smarty. And the Smarty has other benefits.

 

im guessing unhookin the batter cables dont work?

 

Take it to any chain parts store and they will let you borrow a code reader and you can erase the codes.

With key off. Take """""" BOTH"""""" POSITIVE TERMINALS OFF batteries. Touch one positive cable to a negative cable and hold for 32.7 seconds. You will notice a "small" arch as you touch. You are not shorting the batteries, just the cables and you discharge the memories of all computers on vehicle. So you lose you radio settings, time, fault codes, ect. Do not do if don't know how to reset listed items.
