Looking for your experiences and sources for a 1999 replacement ECM

Done some searching and found some companies that say they Repair ECMs...??

 

Boss had an N14 ECM rebuilt. Three times. The last time he broke down and bought a new one. The rebuilt one never was right, it pulls better with the new ECM than it did with any of the rebuilds.

And the old one went to Cummins so they could copy the programming over to the new one.

I think it's just a band-aid to get it running long enough to sell the truck.

 

Is there such thing as a New ECM? The internet forum chatter is: "'they' dont make them anymore, you can only get a repaired one or a junk yard one"

I just started searching , Im going to call Cummins Pacific monday and get the skinny. I'll try and avoid the Dodge (D)Stealers

I see read guys buying from a sellers on ebay and I found a few repair companies that claim they program it to your vin number.....

 

I bought two last year. Actually the second was a warranty replacment. I went to Cummins dealer in Wichita, KS.

First one was never quite right and finally quit after 10 months.

I found that Cummins was the only source. Actually the Dodge dealer has to call them to get one and then charges you markup again.

I think it was around $1400 with shipping and tax.
