Reconnect

I took out my Power Puck a couple of weeks ago so Dodge woudn't see it and void my warrenty 8). I tried to put it back in my truck last night and the engine light came on and the truck wasn't running right. I took the puck out and the truck ran fine. The puck was in my truck for about 8k before and I had no problems at all. What would cause this problem. ??? Do I need to put some type of lube on the connections ?

Re:Reconnect

If the Power puck utilizes manipulated voltage to the MAP sensor, it's possible that the plugs terminals have some stuff on them. Make sure they are clean before reinstalling. It sounds like the truck is going into limp mode, probably due to out of range voltage. I had this happen with my Comp when the adapter plug developed resistance in it. If the terminals are bad, maybe get a new adaptor plug. LE

Re:Reconnect

Looks like the DC Morality police are out. There is no such software. Why is it that if somebody needs warranty work with a box (of any kind) it is fraud? Gary, you cannot be that ****. Wahat if the guy had an issue with his seatbelt, or radio? Does he deserve to lose his warranty over that? People with attitudes like yours is the reason Dealers get a **** poor reputation. Find something else to keep yourself busy instead of giving owners a ration of stuff. Now I know why you stay away from the Dieselram website. You tried this over there once and got shut down.

Re:Reconnect

WOW didn't know this would cause such a stink The reason I took out the puck is due to the fact of the VOID sticker on the connection and since they were replacing the $1,200 turbo I didn't want them to not pay.

Thanks for the info on the connection though,I will clean them off and try it out. ;D

Peace out Yall 8)

Re:Reconnect

I've got an EZ and K&N air filter on mine, and I will pull both off if I had to take my truck in to get a tail light changed. It's not a matter of trying to fool or screw the dealers, it's more of trying to keep the dealers from screwing you later. Things break and go out on trucks all the time, doesn't matter if you're totally stock, or not. Lift pumps go out all the time on stock trucks, and i'm not going to let a dealer blame it on my EZ, when he himself probably knows it's not. I've had bad luck with a few dealers, most recently on my last truck. It had a exhaust doughnut go out with 20,000mi., and they weren't going to replace it because I had a cat-back exhaust. Then they said they couldn't hear the leak, so I had to take off work and drive a mechanic around so he could hear the leak. He said he fixed it by tightening up the bolts. picked it up and the leak was still there. Went back the next day, and talked to the manager for 2 hours before he agreed to put a new doughnut in. He eventually agreed that it had nothing to do with the cat-back exhaust, and admitted they had alot of that year trucks come in with bad doughnuts. Point is, they tried to screw me out of warranty work, which by the way couldn't have been more than $20, because of something that I added, which had nothing to do with the problem. Therefore, I will pull everything I can off my truck before it goes to the dealer.

Re:Reconnect

DODGE4X4, I know you got the problem fixed but you might want to buy some dielectric grease to keep on the connections. I give mine a shot of grease about once every 10,000 miles just to keep the check engine light happy.

Re:Reconnect

You speak as if you had done this before, with the dealer and all. I cannot understand why anybody would leave anything incriminating in the way of mods on their trucks when taking them in for service. Are you telling us that if your engine went south on you, that you would leave the K&N filter / comp box on when you went in? What if you blew your motor without the use of the box? Do you think the dealer would believe you? This is one of those no winner questions, regardless of how you answer you are screwed. Just hope it doesn't happen to you, or anybody else. But when members are asking legitimate questions with valid concerns, I think it may be more appropriate to keep the self righteous comments to yourself. You seem to be a reasonably intelligent individual, and keeping with the OBJECTIVE issues is all anybody is looking for. My condolences go ot to those who found my remarks offensive,Start over? Why not..................
