Rear end KLICKLUNK

I have a 2000 4x4 5speed Gearvenders dbl od banks powerpac<br>rear 80 is posi just turned over 40K had oilchanged in both diffs now i started hearing the noises when starting from a dead stop. Jacked her up checked ujoints driveline visual diff freeplay is nil, is this normal or a trouble waiting to break loose

If you have a limited slip unit in the rear, did you add the necessary friction modifier for it? If you did not, this will cause your rear to act up, with noises, and change how the truck handles. I hear you buy it from the dealer, and add 2 oz. at a time until it acts like you want it to.<br><br>Chris

can also get it from NAPA for a bit cheaper. i left it outta mine to see if i would need it and my diff started sounding very much like what your describing. put in the modifer and it cleared it right up<br>

i changed my fluid on a different vehicle and forgot the friction additive and it did the same thing your truck is doing...not a pretty sound, poured in the additive and no problems since.

I guess this is what I get for trusting the lube shop, They say that they follow the DC specs, I did not see any friction modifier on the invoice ain't that just Jiffy huh hem. I will get the additive in the diff ASAP.<br><br><br> Thanks for the input everyone !
