Rear Axle seals

Rear Axle seals
I've made progress on my brakes, but have gone through 3 axle seals. 2 within 100 miles and another one after 1500 miles. The differential vent is clear, and there are no signs of damage or nicks on the axles. I can't think of any other issues. Has anyone run into this or something like this? Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks

Could be excessive run out in the hub. Also check the bearing race make sure it hasn't spun in the hub. I had problem with new vehicle seal leaking replaced the hub and it fixed it. That was after I replaced the seal twice.

If the seal mating surface of the axle isnt perfect (IE, scratched or grooved) it wont seal.
If the bearings are loose it wont seal.
If the installation is done incorrectly or without greasing the seal it can leak.
And if the axle lube is too low it can burn up the seal.
Or you just got some crappy hecho en China seals.

There were no visible signs on the axle surface where the seal mates. The bearings seemed fine and were tight. Oil was applied to the axle mating surface but maybe grease is required. The seal body mating surface looked clean but that is the area we applied some silicone in the event it was corrupted. We are on the road again. I'll keep an eye on the drums for signs of leakage. I would think the odds of 3 out of 4 seals being bad are low, but " 1 in a million" means one somebody wins/looses… It happens …. Thanks I'll post again in a few weeks.
