Question about the Quad Pulse monitor

Question about the Quad Pulse monitor
I just installed my new pulse but while doing so I noticed the wires going into the back of the unit have no cord relief or fitting I could just pull them out on accident I mean, is this the way they are or did I get an incomplete one?
