question about fuel pressure

This site is great first of all
I installed a fuel pressure gauge from geno's,at idle its 14psi at cruising its around 10 to 11psi but when I full throttle it it goes to 4 psi then creeps back up I have an edge comp set to 5 on 5 I read most of the threads on this and from what read it shouldnt go below 7 psi but mine does no codes yet so I am just wondering if its alright or should I replace the pump it was replaced with vp about 6000 miles ago I have 80000 on it now thanks

If you haven't done so yet, you might think about adding an aftermarket
fuel line/fuel fitting setup to increase the flow.
I gained 1 to 1 1/2 PSI of fuel pressure across the board
after installing my Scotty Smart Fuel system.

Now that I finally have a FP guage, I can chime in .

At idle I have 14psi..15 cruising at 60. I t doesn't vary much.
I have the Vulcan relo kit with a carter pump from Napa.

Vulcan here too. Cheaper than scotty, maybe not as "clean" of a set up, but accomplishes the same task.

I also recently saw that someone on Ebay is selling the same kind of kits with the ~an style fittings, it even came with the valve and fittings to hook up a gauge to.

Once you see a "big line" kit, you'll wonder how diesel even flowed thought those sad little banjo fittings.
