Question Push accelerator, not accelerating

Check this out. Yesterday I sat at the end of the driveway reading some mail, go to pull out, roll at idle onto the road, push pedal (like, enough to make it go) and nothing. So, I floor it, and it pops right up, turbo screaming and all.
I ignored this, thinking it was a freak thing. Well, rolling down the highway today, in OD about 55-60MPH, go to speed up a bit, pushing, pushing, (about 1.5 - 2 inches from resting postion)
NOTHING! Same deal, kept pushing the accelerator (ZERO RPM Change) till it dropped out of OD and ran fine???
I am doing an APPS reset right now, thinking it may be the throtle position sensor (or not).
gotta be an electrical thing, right?
Any thoughts on this one? Weird feeling, pushing the go pedal and staying at idle!

Oh, and also what about the windshield wipers stopping wherever they please?? (Might as well kill two birds with one thread, huh)?

after you do the apps reset...turn your key off and on 3 times...to check the codes...if p0216 comes up it will verify what we all will suspect as it being a bad vp-44 injection pump...mine is in the shop right now getting a replacement. good luck

I'd LOVE to hear that it's not a THOUSAND (plus) Dollar Pump!!
Of course after searching, looks like 7 out of 10 times this is the companion code for 0216= my truck sits a while..............

thats the code for the VP44, without gages, it will be hard, but i had the same symptoms and codes, my lift pump was bad, they replaced it, the 216 code came back and the dealer erased it and said they would check on it, when i brought it back in, they said the code didnt come back and they werent gonna do anything about it. mine is still running...... i'd try and get the fuel pressure checked, if its low change the lift pump. it has 100,000 mile warranty, is it still under?

Na, I was very pleased with the Box (too busy,... or is that Lazy) to get it hooked up yet.
I have a funny way of getting one part (like the sub) then deciding that I might as well buy 5 other things to go along with it to make it a total project. Anyone else suffer from this affliction? I'm thinking pretty plain, like head unit with Sirius hookups and middle of the road replacements for the factory speakers, nothing fancy, just a lil upgrade. Thanks again guys,a HUGE help on this one

GAUGES FIRST!

Don't waste your time

Why waste your time with another lift pump??? Buy a FASS, or even a Turbo Dog, I'm not promoting either, except that both are better than than a freaking stock lift pump.
Do it right the first time, or don't do it at all!

I like to put it this way...... 3 aftermarket gauges on a CTD are like 3 pairs of new shoes to a woman. Necessity. Maybe try that with the wifey !.....or not
