Pump problems in 2nd gens

I am thinking about buy an '06. Wife wants it cause it is quieter, yuk...but you know how that goes. Anyway, has Dodge fixed the lift pump and injector pump problems in the 3rd generations?

From what Ive read - NO. It looks like the lift pumps are somewhat better but just buying a third gen and thinking your lift pump problems are over would be delusional. Third gen guys are also installing FASS units or installing other aftermarket pumps on their trucks.

The pumps went to an intank design in 05. Personally I have NOT encountered a problem resulting from this pump set up. My opinion is that you are getting a much better fuel system on the common rail than the VP you currently have.
