Pulling the engine Question?

Can you pull the 24v engine with a regular 2 ton engine lift, and also what engine stand do I need for this engine? (engine stand lb rating) also are there any tips are thing I need to watch out for when pulling the engine?

2 ton lift should work fine. Engine plus all accessories (alternator, injection pump, etc) weigh a little over 100 lbs according to the manual. Can't offer any tips on pulling it, as I have never pulled one, sorry.

As far as an engine stand goes, get one that has at least four rollers, can handle a long, heavy engine.

Engine is at least 1,100 lbs. I used a 2 ton crane with no problem. The engine stand I used is rated for 1250 lbs. It broke. (lousy welds a pin) I rewelded it together properly and it holds now but is awfull springy.
I made up some wooden supports to hold the end when I work on it. This engine is very long compared to v8 and other engines making a huge lever arm for the pivit pin. I would not skimp on the stand.

They have stands that you bolt to the side of the block, instead of the rear of the block. Takes some of the leverage away. I just built a stand out of 4" channel that holds the engines in by the motor mounts. Just an FYI, the engine is still front heavy, and the mounts are at different heights.
