The proverbial can of worms...
The proverbial can of worms...
Hey all,
Just pulled my dash cover off and realized the dash cover was, um, covering a bit of a mess. The entire stock dash is in pieces. I attempted to remove what's left in order to have a better look and realized why: there are these tiny little hex screws from the ducts UP to the dash. Why in God's name would Dodge fasten their dash to the ducting in this fashion? Is there a better way to go at removing the thing? For that matter, if I chase down a replacement at a junkyard, how the hell am I supposed to get it RE attached with all those little hex heads?
Forgive me, I'm feeling pretty frustrated right now. With this, trying to figure out what extra bits to buy to hook up my FP gauge, chasing wires for the power and lighting to them, and the front-end work I'm probably going to defer at this point, I'm questioning my wisdom in buying this truck.
thanks
Charlie

I use a snapon 1/4 inch long flex drive and a 6 inch extension with 1/4 drive bit socket, still think they are torx, the common one 15 I think. Also do not use a power driver close to the windshield as a tight screw can wind up the flex drive and flip out and crack the windshield.
